Paper Shredding & Recycling
Guide to Shredding and Recycling Paper
Shredding can help you to dispose of paper documents, while making sure your personal information is secure. But did you know that shredding shortens paper fibers, making them harder to use in recycled products?
AF&PA developed the Think Before You Shred! poster to help you consider your options as you recycle your paper and paper-based items. Only documents with sensitive information, such as your social security, credit card, or bank account numbers, need to be shredded. Any other non-sensitive items, such as magazines, books, greeting cards or direct mail, can be placed directly in the recycling bin. Download the "Think Before You Shred" poster below and hang it in your office by your shredder today!
