In 2008 the residents of Athens-Clarke County, Georgia recovered more than 10,000 tons of paper thanks to the Recycling Division's education and outreach efforts. The county accepts recyclables in two clean, commingled streams and includes a pay-as-you-throw residential collection program, drop-off sites, and commercial recycling
